Build websites faster with Copy and Paste between projects

Ignas Jul 26, 2023

We are thrilled to introduce our latest feature: Copy and Paste between projects. This game-changing functionality empowers you to effortlessly reuse elements, layouts, styles, and other content from one project to another, supercharging your design process.

When should you use it?

Our new Copy and Paste feature is designed to enhance your Ycode experience in multiple ways, allowing you to work smarter, not harder. Let's look at the top situations where you should consider using it:

  1. Copying Elements from a Template: Often, you might find yourself admiring sections from different templates. With the new Copy and Paste feature, you can easily copy any element or group of elements from any template, blending the best of all worlds in your project.

  2. Creating and Using a Design Elements Library: This feature allows you to build your own library of design elements, which you can tap into for future projects. This not only speeds up the building process but also ensures design consistency across projects. You can also leverage UI kits and style guides created by others in the Ycode community, such as nintu.io.

  3. Managing Development and Production Environments: For large websites, having distinct development and production environments is a smart move. You can construct new elements in the development environment, showcase them to your client, and once approved, effortlessly copy them to the live production site.

  4. Collaborating with Other Designers: If you are hesitant about giving full access to your live project to other designers, the new feature comes to your rescue. Designers can now develop elements or groups of elements in a separate project. Once ready, these can be seamlessly copied and pasted into the main project.

From improving project collaboration to accelerating design execution, the new Copy and Paste functionality is set to revolutionize the way you work with Ycode. Harness its power and experience design like never before.

One exceptional aspect of Ycode is its commitment to accessibility and affordability. With Ycode, you can enjoy the freedom of having unlimited projects and the convenience of adding as many users as you need, all at no cost. For more details, please explore our pricing options here...

How does it work?

Excited to leverage our new Copy and Paste feature? It's straightforward! Here are the steps to reuse elements and components across different sites:

  1. Initiate the process: Begin by opening the project from which you want to copy elements in Designer mode.

  2. Copy the elements: Highlight the element you want to copy using your mouse and press Command + C (for Mac users) or Control + C (for Windows users). Alternatively, you can right-click on the selected element and choose 'Copy' from the context menu.

  3. Prepare for the paste action: Open the destination project in Designer mode and select the area where you want to insert the copied element. For ease of operation, you can keep both projects open in separate browser tabs simultaneously.

  4. Paste the elements: Now, simply press Command + V (on Mac) or Control + V (on Windows) to paste the copied element into the selected area. You can also use the right-click context menu and select 'Paste'.
