Understanding privacy settings
Ycode offers flexible privacy settings to help you control who can access your website content. Whether you're sharing work-in-progress projects, client previews, or exclusive resources, understanding and configuring privacy options ensures that your content remains secure and accessible only to the intended audience.
Ycode allows you to manage privacy at multiple levels:
Individual pages
CMS items (dynamic content)
Folders containing multiple pages
Password protection is a privacy feature on Ycode’s platform which limits access to content until the correct password is entered. This is ideal for sharing sensitive or exclusive material without making it public.
How to Set Up Password Protection
1. Password Protecting a Regular Page
Open your Ycode project and navigate to Pages.
Right-click the page you want to protect and select Page Settings.
In General, enable Password Protected and set your desired password.
Click Save. When visitors access this page, they’ll be prompted to enter the password before viewing the content. You can customize the design of the password entry page to match your branding.
2. Password Protecting CMS Items
Go to the CMS section and select the collection you want to protect.
Create a new field type Password for your collection.
For each CMS item, enter a unique password in this field.
In the CMS page settings, enable password protection and choose the password field you just created.
Now, each CMS item can have its own password, letting you control access on an item-by-item basis.
3. Password Protecting Folders
If your project includes folders with multiple pages, you can secure the entire folder.
Open the folder settings, enable Password Protected, and set a password.
All pages within the folder will now require the password for access.
Customizing the Password Page
You can fully customize the appearance of the password entry page, ensuring a seamless and branded experience for your visitors. Adjust colors, logos, and messaging to fit your site's style.
Managing and removing passwords
To remove password protection, disable Password Protected option in the page, CMS, or folder settings.
You can update or change passwords at any time by revisiting the same settings.
