How to build and handover sites to clients

To create client sites with Ycode, it's best to build them directly in your Ycode workspace. Once the client approves the site, you can transfer it to them and have them add you as an editor for any future updates or maintenance.

1. Build the client site in your own Ycode workspace

Design and build the client’s site in your Ycode workspace. Share a preview link while the project is in progress, and if needed, you can invite them as a free editor to make content changes.

2. Handover the final website to your client

After your client approves the site, generate a 'Clone Project' link to hand it over. Learn more here: https://www.ycode.com/academy/clone-projects

If you're part of our partner program, remember to add your partner tag to the end of the link to earn a commission for referring the client to Ycode.

3. Client owns the website and invites you

When your client opens the clone link, they’ll be prompted to copy the project into their Ycode workspace, creating an exact replica in their account.

Next, they can choose a Website Plan (make sure to advise them on the right plan), add a custom domain, and publish the site.

If they need you to make final adjustments or manage the site going forward, they’ll need to add you as a Designer or Administrator to the project.
